Fibracep® composition is an equilibrium between soluble and insoluble fibre, all derived from vegetal sources, mainly onion (Allium Cepa) and mixed at selected amounts with Psyllium fibre (Plantago Ovata).

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is defined by a constellation of interconnected physiological, biochemical and clinical factors that directly increases the risk of cardiovascular adverse events, as stroke or myocardial ischemia, and metabolic pathologies such as type 2 diabetes mellitus. Worldwide prevalence of MetS ranges from <10% to as much as 84%, depending on the region, urban or rural environment, composition (sex, age, race, and ethnicity) of the population studied, and the definition of the syndrome used. In general, the International Diabetes Federation estimates that one quarter of the world’s adult population has the MetS (Cardiol Res Pract. 2014; 2014: 943162).

Fibracep intake, as evidenced by clinical studies, can help to modulate the risk of metabolic syndrome development:

  • Mechanistically, increases the concentration of the transporters Abcg5 and Abcg8, which contribute to the reduction of the total cholesterol levels and the LDL fraction, and to the increasing of the HDL *
  • Increases the antioxidant capacity, reducing the protein oxidative modification *
  • Reduces blood pressure *
  • Induces a significant increment of the HDL in comparison with the intake of the soluble and insoluble fibres, leading to a decrease of the cardiovascular risk *
  • Reduces the weight gain in comparison with other fibres, being a metabolic protective agent *
  • Increases the concentration of gut-derived incretins, improving pancreatic function in comparison to other fibers *

Ingredient Statement

Fibracep® can be labeled as “fiber”, “dietary fiber”, “dietary fiber [Fibracep®]”, or “Fibracep®″.

Nutrient Content Claims

“Source of fibre” claim = 10+% DV = 3 g total dietary fiber per 100 g (or at least 1,5 g of dietary fibre per 100 kcal) per serving = 3.75 g Fibracep® per serving (assumes Fibracep is sole source of dietary fiber)
“High Fibre” claim = 20+% DV = 6 g total dietary fiber per 100 g (or at least 3 g of dietary fibre per 100 kcal) per serving = 7.5 g Fibracep® per serving (assumes Fibracep is sole source of dietary fiber)

Targeting indications

In support of targeting indications relating to the inclusion of Fibracep® in products, typically, a minimum 6.0+ g Fibracep® as is per serving (or 6 g of Fibracep® intake per day) is needed to reference back to existing and ongoing clinical research. Customers assume all final responsibility for claim support of their product.

With no added sugars and Sugars-free

Fibracep® contains very few naturally occurring sugars for your consideration of a “With no added sugars” or “Sugar-free” claim. The “Sugar-free” claim may only be made where the product contains no more than 0,5 g of sugars per 100 g or 100 ml.
